About the Author
Stan Galloway teaches writing and literature at Bridgewater College, in the heart of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. His work has appeared in print and online in places such as Boston Literary Magazine, Connotation Press, Contemporary World Literature, Flutter Poetry Journal, Hobo Camp Review, Loch Raven Review, The Muse: An International Journal of Poetry, Paradise Review, Red Booth Review, Scarlet Literary Magazine, and vox poetica. His work has been nominated Best of the Net by three different editors. Just Married is his first full-length collection of poems. He has written a chapbook, Abraham (Sierra Delta Press, 2012) and a book of literary analysis, The Teenage Tarzan (McFarland, 2010).

The Promise of Marriage in Poetry

When poets compose their verse, love and marriage are often topics. When poets write about the love in a marriage, then we have a special treat. Stan has taken his mastery of verse and composed some of the most beautiful love poems I've read. With his special touch, he took mundane tasks such as putting away the laundry and ironing, and created compelling poems. Only a poet, in love with his wife and in love with words and what they can say, would create the masterful poem, "Toenails." But I'm not doing this book the due it is owed. This is really a story, in verse, of the evolution of and continuation of a marriage. A must read for those who seek romance and want to read about a great romance in poetic form.

There is no other voice like Galloway's

Dr. Galloway has been blessed with the unique talent of writing narratives that are so convincingly pure...this book is chocked full of these beautiful little gems. This book should be in ever poetry lover's collection and also makes the perfect gift for the newly married couple, anniversary, etc. I'm a big fan of this poet and will proudly follow his career and publishings.
