Diversity: Expanded and why it's necessary

I'm an entrepreneur, not a corporate guy, but was captivated by the author's writing style and compelling argument for inclusion. Taking it beyond women and minorities, she addresses the generational issue, where the young are clamoring to participate in strategy, but the old are blocking the way because they are threatened and comfortable with the "way we've always done things." As a septuagenarian, my eyes and mind were opened to the point of understanding the criticality of inclusion for the future.

This is a great new book that links business goals to strategic inclusion and diversity initiatives within the workplace. Engelmeier suggests many reasons why its important to start looking at the broader business benefits of inclusion. The real way to make inroads in the inclusion and diversity space in a "do more with less" economy is to tie it back to the bottom line ROI and this book tells you how to get there.

The author's insights into the value of empowering and including the entire workforce in the social and business architecture of an organization are very timely in an increasingly diverse business landscape.
